Painting names

It's so strange but I'm at an age in my life where all my friends are all getting married and starting to have children. But it's perfect for me because I can love on their babies without actually having to have a baby right now.  What's even better about all my friends having children is I can love on their nurseries.  I think decorating a baby's room is so much fun and there's so many ways you can add personal touches.

It all started two years ago when the boyfriend's brother and his wife found out they were having a boy.  They were going to name him Colton and his nursery was going to be Winnie the Pooh themed.  I wanted to get them a gift that was homemade so I came across some wooden letters in the local craft store and painted them with Winnie the Pooh.  They came out great and Colton's mom loved them.

(Sorry the picture is so blurry.  I couldn't find a better one on my computer.)

She loved them so much in fact, that she had me make sets as gifts for some of our other friends who were having babies.  I did a set for twins, a boy and a girl, and they turned out really cute.  Aidan's were Micky Mouse Clubhouse themed and Leah got Disney princesses.

The most recent set that I did was for a sweet baby girl named Addison.  She was the first girl in a family  and they were so excited to finally have their little princess and the chance for a girly room so I did a super feminine theme.

My favorite one was the S.  I think it's the bumblebee.

And those are just some of the letters I have made.  I've done tropical surfer themed names for two little brothers and the Tinkberbell fairy theme for two sisters.  I haven't really had the chance to make any since Addison's though because I've been finishing up school and moving back home.  Although I do have some orders coming in soon...can't wait!  So excited!

I also keep meaning to make some for the boyfriend and I, but now that I've seen that moss idea I can't get it out of my head.  Is is tacky to have more than one set in your house?  I guess I could always paint them and then if they didn't look right I could cover them with moss.  Sounds like a post for the future.
